Wood Habitat Ltd provides to you, the user, this website, including all information and services available conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.

By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions, including the additional Wood Habitat policies (link this) referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site and our physical store, the show Home, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/ or contributors of content.

Kindly read these Terms of Service carefully before accessing or using our website. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the website or use any services.

You may not use our products for any illegal or unauthorized purpose nor may you, in the use of the website or other platforms make any false claims about ownership of the products or services made available, failure to do so will result in legal action or termination of your use of our services.

Interior Architecture

Are you looking for more than production and delivery of your furniture? Do you want your space and furniture to be in theme?

Our Interior Architecture service is for you- we provide you with the option to work closely with our creative team of designers to create the customized furniture and space of your dreams. 

This is inclusive of;

  • Site visits 

  • Mood board proposals with plants, furniture, interior design layout, colours and other visual elements.

  • 3D concept proposals

  • Technical advice throughout the project.

  • Interior design for the whole space.

How does it work?

  • Reach out to us with best via email.

  • Site visit is scheduled starting at 80,000Rwf Site Visit fee depending on your site location. Deductible from your service fee.

  • Project pricing is discussed on a case by case basis.


Design, Decoration and Set Up.

We offer the personalized setup package for clients interested in developing their style with us. This service allows clients to brainstorm with our creative team on the most effective way to use furniture and decor to create a space you love.

This includes;

  • Delivery and installation

  • Mood board and 2D proposal.

How does it work/price breakdown

-For orders below 10,000,000Rwf, we charge a flat fee of 300,000Rwf for a session of 6 hours. Clients could opt to break down the hours into 2-hour sessions or whichever time frame fits best, we are always available in case more clarification is needed.  

-For orders above 10,000,000Rwf, the amount to be charged is discussed. 

Supervision Consultancy

Do you have a space and products in place that you would like to revive? Or do you need a strong supervision to work closely with your chosen local supplier? 

If this is you- the supervision consultancy service will meet your needs. This service allows you to be in touch with highly experienced furniture makers and designers who can walk you through what is needed to transform your space and furniture.

How does it work?

-Schedule an appointment whether in person or virtually with our creative director.

-Quotation and proposals sent.

  1.  “Sell-Back” at Wood Habitat

Disclaimer: Sell back service is reserved for our products only.

Wood habitat is committed to producing quality products with a positive impact on the planet and people.  

We understand you might buy something and have to change it for one reason or another after a few days within its functional state. We don’t want you to waste your money in this process. And remember, any process of production uses resources that are directly or indirectly derived from the environment, the better we choose, the less we consume, the lower carbon footprint on the environment.

SAVE MONEY-SAVE THE PLANET by owning exactly what you need, love and use at maximum.

From the design stage to the last stage of manufacturing, we adapt the model sustainability by choosing re-usable and easily renewable materials. We also care to upgrade and improve our products at the same time adding convenience and value to our customers.

These products will be revamped and given a new life or donated.

How does this happen?

-          Reach out (Best by email)

-          Send us a few pictures or videos of the product

-          We will conduct an inspection and value calculation

-          Receive a ‘Credit note’ or ‘cash’ within 30 working days. To shop our latest, newest, your favourites!

-          Shop or order with your ‘credit note’ like paying cash.

-          Own stuff that you really love and use.

 

2. Return and Cancellation Policy

Disclaimer: service applicable to purchases in our product line except BESPOKE.

We understand there could be unpredictable events that might push you to putting your purchase on hold or cancelling it entirely.

Return and cancellation are not subject to the breach of technical terms and clauses of the contract- reasons to return or cancel have to be other than quality and condition of the purchased good.

On-hold cancellation: when the client requests a suspension of works within 5 days after confirmation of order/purchase before delivery, The fee is 2% of the total order amount. Either a money refund or a credit note is issued after deduction of the cancellation fee.

 

Return within 5 days of delivery. The return fee is 4% of the total order amount Either a money refund or a credit note is issued after deduction of the cancellation fee.

Return Within 90 days, The return fee is 25% of the total order amount Either a money refund or a credit note is issued after deduction of the cancellation fee.

After 90 days: The return is considered a Sell-Back.

 

Typical discrepancies for Refund:

A piece of furniture is damaged or has obvious faults in the design ( shape, technicalities of assembling, failure in function) 

A piece of furniture greatly does not fit the clients agreed technical expectations ( bearing in mind the tolerance of +-5cm)

The furniture received was different in nature and use than what was purchased; or was truly never received.

The less we consume, the more we preserve our planet. We want you to have products that you love, need and are used at full potential. Our products are built with that concept  in mind. 

From the Design stage to the delivery/installation stage, we ensure products are set to serve you for 3-10 years depending on the usage and nature of the product. All our products have a Guarantee note tag.

Non-Warranty covered events ; 

We have designed our maintenance service to help you solve these problems below at your convenience. We don’t hold responsibilities on the below cases and events, they are at the customer’s risk in full.

Wooden furniture (soft, hard)

This is a general guide on maintenance for all furniture and doors fully or partly made of wood. It doesn’t not take into consideration the behavior of every different species of wood, type of furniture, and environment. 

All materials, environments and pieces are different, but we recommend the below for an easy-care to all your pieces.

WH Maintenance Guide

  1. Moving

When Moving houses or location of your furniture; 

-You need an experienced furniture maker to dismount and mount your furniture. Major damages occur in these transitions. 

2. General Care and Environment

Be mindful of temperature

Avoid using hot and cold objects on wooden furniture for better maintenance. They tend to leave an impression that may distort the original texture of the surface. Make sure the exposure is limited to permissible time intervals and not for too long.

Let it age with grace

Furniture ages with time and you need to let it age gracefully. Just like wine, it may acquire new character in its twilight years. Some wood may lighten and some may darken with the passage of time. So when you’re buying any wooden furniture the next time be very mindful of its ageing habits.

Most hard wood tends to age darker. 

Keep sharp objects at a distance.

You should be very careful about not letting sharp objects too close to wooden furniture pieces. A scratch can go deeper in thickness and become hard to remove. 

Please use the WH maintenance box to sand the light scratches off. 

Minimal exposure to sunlight

Be careful about exposing wooden furniture to sunlight for prolonged time periods. It results in a phenomenon called ‘spotting’ where bright and dark spots appear across the section. On a wooden table, you could use tablecloth to effectively mitigate its effect.

For outdoor furniture

Choose lightly finished products (with oil only) no painted wood outside for prolonged exposure. When you choose Metal for outdoors, make sure it’s finished with metallic weatherproof paint. 

Oil your outdoor wooden pieces at least every 3 months.

 Hardwood sunlight effect: 

-The sunlight oxidises hardwood, and the wood becomes grayish in colour. Some people love this effect, but in case you wish to maintain the original color of wood on exposed wooden furniture pieces, oiling after cleaning with a cotton fabric once a week would be the solution.  

3. Cleaning Instructions.

Use Warm Water For Cleaning 

You should use warm water on a soft cotton fabric or a sponge. Be careful not to soak it. Clean it until the dust wears off. The residual moisture can be wiped away with a cotton cloth later.

Don’t use detergents, spray deodorants or other chemicals on wooden furniture. 

Clean the hidden parts of your furniture with baking soda or salt and warm water. This gets rid of the unpleasant smell of moisture. 

Oil or wax Regularly

Oiling and waxing wood is highly recommended. Also, it adds a protective layer, a coating on the surface thereby enlivening its appearance and FEEL. Oil and wax your wooden units once in 6 months if indoors, and every 3 months or more frequently for outdoor wood pieces

Dust properly

Clean furniture doesn’t only make for a clean room but also reduces about 70% of bacteria found in dust that causes unpleasant smell after time and alters the look and feel of your furniture.  

Make sure you use a soft, dry cotton cloth to wipe any dust off. Clean your sofas, tables and all other products on a bi-monthly basis. 

Freshen 

If a piece of furniture has a lingering smell, air outside on a warm, dry day. Shade from direct sunlight ( Sofas and wooden furniture). This is recommended every 6-12 months in use.  

Pour baking soda over the surface to absorb odors for 2-3hours. 

Spray white alcohol on stained fabrics/ (stain spots) and use it very lightly because it might change the color of your fabrics . 

Rub the upper edge of stinking parts with a white odorless candle.

Place lemon slices inside stinking parts or hidden parts.

Fabric maintenance

Opt for hand wash with a mild detergent. Don’t dry under direct sun rays. Don’t Iron. 

Use the zipper head, don’t force the zipper, apply a drop of oil instead. 

Don’t misuse your furniture. Some fabrics will retain unpleasant smell, shape and tint.

-We start works within 2days after confirmation. 

Remodeling and Revamp at WH

We revise products, we add value – they FEEL new, you enjoy them better. 

How does it work?

 -Reach out to us with pictures or video / best by email or message

-Inspection visit after an online/telecom inspection. Pay 125,000rwf Inspection fee. Deductible from your service fee.

-Final Quote and confirmation 

-Production begins within a week of confirmation.. 

-Your new revamped product is delivered to you.
